It is hard to believe that tomorrow is our last day of ministry here in Belmopan (we will be heading to Caye Caulker Friday for a day at the beach). We have had a very productive 5 days here and have really maximized our ministry time. God has been so good to us here and we are grateful that we have been able to be a part of his plan in spreading the Gospel to all nations. Plus, we have learned a lot ourselves too!
This morning, after breakfast, we headed to the Kings Children’s Home here in Belmopan. The kids were wonderful to spend time with and we played games with them, did crafts, and loved on them. There were several children I wanted to take home with me in my suitcase. We are not able to post picture of them due to Belize regulations, but trust me they were cute!
During lunch, our youth choir was able to go to the American Embassy here and sing for the employees and the ambassador. It was such an honor for our students to get to sing! They especially loved that they could drink the water at the Embassy straight from the water fountain (the Embassy’s water is purified)!
After lunch, we were back on our service projects and we are almost finished painting both houses and completing the woodwork that needed to be done. The students have worked so hard and they have never even complained for one second about any of the projects. We will go back tomorrow and finish a few more details at both houses we have been working on.
Finally, the day wrapped up with another youth night. We have been so blessed by these nights with the youth. Many of the youth that come and visit even drive in from other towns for the youth events every night. They announced it at their home church and they just showed up! One of the highlights of the night tonight was a game that Arlee (a part of our Praying Pelican staff here) taught all of us called the Priest and the Parrish. We partnered up with some Belizean youth and played together and it was hilarious.
Jared Delk, Sydney Adams, and Anna Odom each gave a testimony of trusting in Jesus no matter what happens in your life and they did an awesome job. I wrapped up with a Gospel presentation from the story of Nicodemus. Justin also led us in worship tonight on guitar.
After the youth service, we had our nightly meeting and it was also a highlight of the day. We had a time of worship and then a time to break up into small groups and verbally affirm our teammates. Our team has really bonded over the past few days and tonight was a testimony to that. The students were on cloud nine when they got back to the hotel tonight and are all feeling great!
COMING UP: Tomorrow morning we are re-visiting the Youth Hostel from earlier this week, finishing up our service projects, and having our final youth night! Pray for our team that we will be bold and finish strong!
P.S. My internet here has slowly degraded and I am not able to post pics tonight–sorry!
