Merge Recap 4/14 and set list

Worship.001

Last night we combined our middle school and high school for a night of worship. This was the first time we came together this semester. Since we coming to the end of what we do on Sunday nights, it made sense that we would come together last night.

I played in the band and Bart handled the devotional thought for last night. Here are some of the things that he mentioned to get us all in the mindset to worship.

  • If we are not careful, we as Christians can find ourselves being like fair weather fans. We only want to worship in our preferred style or preference
  • Alot of times we have to be begged into worship when we should want to seek after Him in response to all that He has done for us
  • Our lives as well as worship should reflect Him and our devotion to Him
  •  We need a right view of who God is. When we have the right view of Him we will have a genuine view of worship

We took a look at Acts 17:22-31
These verses are packed with reasons that we should worship. That He is a God we can know and who wants to know us.

From this we moved into a time of songs. Out of the songs we gave students an opportunity to share some of their favorite verses talking about praising God or why He should be praised.

I didn’t have the opportunity to share mine, but here it is Romans 3:22-24

We then played a few more songs and closed the evening by praying for students. We know that our students are dealing with struggles. We did not get into specifics, but we asked for those that wanted prayer to sit and we gather around them, placed hands on them and then asked that God work in these situations.

It was an incredible way to end the night! It’s definitely a highlight form a semester full good things.
